Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you coach athletes of all levels?

Yes, we cater for all abilities and want to help everyone achieve their goals. Everyone can benefit from having a coach. A coach ensures that you make the most of your available training time, reduce your injury risk and improve your performance. By choosing to work with a coach you have accountability, support and feedback. Working with a coach is hugely rewarding, and you are able to achieve things beyond what you imagined.

What happens after I sign up with MultisportMe?

Your coach will communicate with you to determine your available training time and commitments. This allows us to formulate a plan that is best suited to you.

A payment link will be provided for your training plan subscription. Payments are handled by Square, and with coaching fees charged to your card monthly. Note that at any point, you can stop your subscription.

Following this, we will write your first program.

What is Training Peaks?

Training Peaks is software used to prescribe and analyse training sessions and races. It is extremely user friendly, and can be accessed via desktop or via the mobile app. Your own personal account will be linked with your coach’s account. When you upload a training session from your watch or bike computer, your coach can look at the relevant information from the activity. This information is used to plan further sessions. You are also able to provide feedback on individual sessions for your coach to read.

Workouts are be created in Training Peaks that can be downloaded directly to your running watch/bike computer. Workouts are programmed with specific pace/power/HR for you to follow throughout the training session. Using Training Peaks allows for increased precision and individualisation of training sessions.

For athletes on a Premium program, your coach will use WKO5. It is advanced performance analysis software attached to Training Peaks that goes beyond basic training metrics. It provides in-depth data modeling to identify your physiological strengths, weaknesses, and fitness trends over time. Your coach will use WKO5 to analyse power, pace, and heart rate data, creating highly individualised training zones and predicting your race performance potential with scientific precision.

What is the benefit of Premium Program versus a Standard Program?

The Premium program offers more personalised attention and flexibility for athletes with ambitious goals or those who need responsive coaching due to varying schedules. With Premium program delivery, you receive fresh training plans every seven-fourteen days (depending on athlete preference) that adapt to your performance, recovery, and life circumstances. Unlimited contact means you can reach out anytime for guidance, motivation, or adjustments – perfect when illness, travel, or unexpected events arise. Weekly data review in WKO5 ensures your coach analyses every session and provides timely feedback to keep you progressing optimally.

The Standard program suits self-motivated athletes comfortable with monthly planning cycles. You’ll receive monthly program delivery and check-ins, which works well if you prefer more independence and have consistent training availability.

Both programs include Training Peaks Premium, season planning and goal setting, as well as varying degrees of race advice related to pacing, fueling and hydration.

Can I change between Premium and Standard Programs?

Yes, absolutely! Note that Premium programs do have a 3 month minimum commitment period. Outside of this, you can swap between programs at any time.

How can I contact my coach?

For athletes on a Premium program, communication is via WhatsApp, text message, email, or any other agreed upon platform (24 hour reply). For athletes on a Standard program Your coach can be contacted via Training Peaks (72 hour reply).

What happens if I get injured?

Unfortunately despite our best efforts to avoid injury, occasionally they do occur. Most of the time, your program can be adjusted for you to continue training whilst managing and recovering from your injury. If an injury is significant enough to warrant time away from training, then this will be managed on a case by case basis.

Do I need a power meter for triathlon or cycling coaching?

Power meters are essential for Premium triathlon and cycling coaching because they provide the most accurate, real-time measurement of your effort. For athletes investing in a Premium program, power meters unlock the full potential of Training Peaks and WKO5. Your coach can precisely calibrate training zones, track fitness improvements, and predict race performance. This scientific approach ensures every training session is optimised, eliminating guesswork and maximizing your return on investment in coaching.

What if I already train with a group?

Training with a group is one of the most enjoyable aspects of endurance sports. We don’t want you to miss your weekly swim, bike or run group sessions. Your coach will write your online program around your group so you can continue to attend.
